The material decision
Every Konina piece begins with brass reclaimed from existing material, rather than newly mined. The decision is intentional not only to limit waste but as a long term commitment to our customers. We believe that creating timeless pieces helps reduce waste and encourages intentional wear.
Our brass is nickel-free and hypoallergenic by composition, designed to be worn against the skin without compromise. The choice removes a common allergen from the wearer's experience while reducing the environmental footprint of the piece itself.
Plating and recyclability
The surface of each Konina piece is finished in 18k gold or rhodium. Both are precious metals chosen for their recoverability at the end of a piece's useful life. We are committed to limiting waste throughout our jewelry-making process.
Production rhythm
Konina pieces are produced in limited, considered runs. The collection is not seasonal. There are no monthly drops, no end-of-season clearances, no manufactured urgency. Each piece is conceived to enter a wardrobe and remain there. Worn and carried. The economics of slow production align with the philosophy.
A direction, not a destination
Sustainability is a direction. Konina continues to evaluate suppliers, materials, and finishing processes against a single principle: each decision must remain accountable to both the wearer and the world she inhabits. Where shorter alternatives exist that conflict with that principle, they are not chosen. Konina works against the logic of mass production.
